Even though travelling from Europe to Turkey by car is now a little easier following the enlargement of the EU to include several eastern European countries it's still a long and difficult journey involving several border crossings with customs officials who still expect you to pay them for your right to enter their country.

Taking the direct ferry from Italy to Turkey is still by far the easiest, most economical and relaxing way to make the journey. See Map.

The direct Italy-Turkey ferry services operate as follows:

Ancona-Cesme One crossing per week during the early and late seasons as shown on the schedule below:
Brindisi-Cesme Two crossings per week during the peak season as shown on the schedule below:

Indirect Ferry Services between Italy and Turkey

During the low season between November and April there are no direct ferry services between Italy and Turkey, however with the boom in property ownership by foreigners in Turkey there is still a requirement for an easier way to get to Turkey than by the long route by road through Eastern Europe. See Map.

Even when there are no direct ferry services it's still possible to travel to Turkey by ferry. There are year round daily ferries from the main Italian Adriatic ports to Patras on the west coast of Greece. From Patras it is 200Kms by highway to Athens and there are also regular coach and train services between the two cities. There are year-round daily ferries from Pireas, which is the port of Athens, to the Greek island of Kos and a three times weekly vehicle passenger ferry from Kos to Bodrum.

We can arrange tickets on the following ferry services:

  • Ancona-Patras (Daily)
  • Athens-Kos (Daily)
  • Kos-Bodrum (Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday)
